I made a visit to the Phoenix Art Museum in Arizona and liked what I saw. Here are a few pieces I enjoyed most.
It's not that often you find a Louise Nevelson work that is not completely black but there are some. I like Louise Nevelson, While I was in art school, we had to choose an artist for inspiration for a 3D design class and I chose her. It was a fantastic journey to learn about her life; professionally and personally. I understood a lot of her decisions in her life and work good and bad. She admitted her flaws and I like anyone who is authentic enough to do that.
Willem de Kooning I haven't seen too many of his paintings but I enjoy when I do get to see one.
Hans Hoffmann, What can I say, I'm a huge fan of his work.
Another Deborah Butterfield sculpture of a horse. They all look different though and take up a lot of room.
Quiet Rage, Gentle Wail, Prints and Masks of Japanese Noh Theatre.
